In genting, the Olive hosts award winning Michelin star Master Chef, anton Mosimann (6–10 November) who will be preparing his gourmet creations for diners. Known as the ‘King of Kitchens’, Chef Mosimann was the youngest ever Maitre Chef de Cuisine at london’s Dorchester Hotel. He is a best-selling author and has received many accolades including an Order of the British empire (OBe) form Her Majesty Queen elizabeth ii and the Catey lifetime achievement award from the British Catering industry.
Also on the Michelin Star roster at The Olive will be ‘Italian Innovator’ Chef Donatella Zampoli (15–18 November). Chef Donatella’s first foray into the culinary world led to eight successful years at the Mas del Saugo, earning it a Michelin Star in the process. She has since established herself as a much sought after culinary consultant, and has consulted for such prestigious establishments as the La Cantinetta Antinori in Florence.
Hailing from Tournus, Chef Christian Moine will bring a taste of France to The Olive from 1–7 December. Chef Christian’s career highlights include
positions as Chef de Cuisine at the Dolce Vita Hotel, and Chef Saucier at the Ritz. He is the administrator of the Societe des Cuisiners de France and has also received numerous awards from prestigious culinary associations such as Les Amis de Curnonsky and d’Auguste Escoffier.
Not to be outdone, QBA will begin the festival with Chef Patricia Yeo (7 – 10 November) featuring her ‘Contemporary Grills with Asian and Spanish influences’ a la carte selection (7-8 November) and her 6-course wine pairing dinners (9-10 November) priced at RM 288++ per person. At her cooking class (10 November) Chef Chef Patricia Yeo will show participants how to create some of her masterpieces, for RM168 nett per person including a set lunch, apron and recipe cards. Alongside Chef Patricia Yeow, celebrity Mixologist Joseph Boroski from Monkey Bar’s will be on hand to display his bar tending prowess.
Chef Rodelio Aglibot from Hawaii will tempt with his much revered Contemporary Asian cuisine from 14 – 18 November. Dinerscan choose from his a la carte menu (14 -15 November) or have an indulgent wine dinner featuring a 6-course menu (16 -17 November) No stranger to the Hollywood spotlight, the Chef’s stint at the renowned ‘Koi’ and ‘Yi Cuisine’ restaurants earnedhim stars for creating innovative New Asian menus. In 2004 he received the honour of an invitation to cook at the prestigious James Beard House. Chef Rodelio will also present a cooking class 24 November for just RM168 nett inclusive of a set lunch, apron and recipe cards.
Also on the schedule is Chef David King (21 –24 November), Director - Kitchens from The Westin – who presents his Grand Dish,an exquisite creation featuring the finest produce available today and inspired by the distinct flavours of Qba Latin Grill. King served as Executive Chef in charge of Food and Beverage at Begawan Giri Estate in Bali, Indonesia – deemed the World’s Best of the Best Resort or Hotel for two years running by Condé Naste Traveler. He was the winner of “Best Young Chef” in Australia and has traveled and worked with some of the planet’s best including Chez Panisse in San Francisco, the 3 Michelin starred Roux Brothers in Le Gavroche and Waterside Inn in London, and the 3 Michelin Le Tante Claire, in Paris and Reims. Paired with a glass of Penfold Grange 1994, the ‘Grand’ experience is priced at RM1,000++ per person.

Live music
Avanti will be presenting a unique performance by operatic lyrical soprano Syafinaz Selamat (14 November, 7.00pm to 10.30pm) whose performance repertoire includes works by Mozart, Puccini and Bellini. Priced at RM168.00++ per person, for a 4-course dinner complete with wine pairings and non-alcoholic beverages. On 15 November, the KL Hilton’s Zeta Bar will groove to the sounds of DJ to the stars, Stéphane Pompougnac. In the city, Ishq will be presenting performances by live bands every Saturday during the festival from 7.30pm – 11.00pm.
SELECTED offers and discounts
Up at Genting, the Olive will waive its cover charge at Safari Disco for festival diners and Qing Zhen will give a 20% discount on selected massages and body treatments at the Space Spa. Diners at Senses will receive complimentary after dinner Prosecco at Zeta Bar while The Dining Room @ La Bodega will give all festival diners free entry at the Atrium and a glass of the house pour (wine, spirits or draught beer) at Telawi Street Bistro. Festival diners at Tuscany will receive a 25% discount on karaoke and a 20% spa discount at the Putrajaya Marriott spa. Chalet will invite diners to take part in the Best of 6 Pinot Noir Wine Walkabout on 16 November, while Bossa Nova will give diners the chance to sample authentic Latin American wines on 2
November. Also at Bossa Nova, diners will be treated to a display of capoeira, a unique blend of martial arts and dance, every Friday night in November. At the Mandarin’s Pacifica and Lai Po Heen a table of 6 or more diners will get a complimentry bottle of house champagne.

Get lucky
Avanti and West Lake Garden are having a special competition for festival diners with rooms as prizes. Iketeru offers a chance to win a cooking class; while La Bodega offers its most frequent customer a chance to win a bottle of 20 years old Brandy Torres Imperial.
